Jack's View

Mr. McDonnell's influence extends into many arenas. As a radio show host, Jack's weekly program Access To Capital, (heard every Saturday morning on 1510 KFNN Financial Newsradio), is the talk radio show for small business.

Jack facilitates discussions with expert guests and business owners on topics important to the growth of every small business. This has led Jack into his most recent project, the development of a small business resource center. McDonnell plays an active role with the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce as a member of the Small Business Leadership Council and as a facilitator for the Solutions to Business Funding Roundtable for business owners. He also serves as the national spokesman and loan advisor for Business Credit Services (Arizona).

Mr. McDonnell's background spans a wide cross section of business. Following his tour of military duty in Europe and Asia and upon completing his formal education, Jack began his career in business finance. His formative years were spent as a senior V.P. of Commercial Credit Corporation, in Baltimore, Maryland, one of the world's largest business lenders. After moving to Arizona in 1975, he served as president of the leasing division at Rauscher, Pierce, Refsnes, and was registered as a securities broker. In 1980, Mr. McDonnell opened Ambanc companies where business lending was expanded throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Due to Mr. McDonnell's expertise in various areas of international finance in the late 1970's, he was asked to assist the Carter administration in developing financings for alternative fuels. Due to the success of that program, McDonnell was invited by Edward Meese (Chief of Staff) to serve as the Assistant Secretary of Energy, in the Reagan administration. Due to both personal and professional considerations, McDonnell chose to remain in Arizona.

As a single rated jet pilot, aviation has been a long time passion of Mr. McDonnell's. In 1980, he was invited to co-chair the aviation task force for the state of Arizona under Governor Babbitt, and was instrumental in creating an agency, which now controls the growth of Arizona's airports.

A tremendous source of enjoyment and pride has been McDonnell's association with Grady Gammage Theater, an Arizona landmark located on the campus of Arizona State University. McDonnell initially served as president of the organization. He continues as an active member and contributor. Jack resides in Scottsdale with his wife and family.
